Paine 45   Erica

Firefly   Firefly with spinnaker

In recent years the racing fraternity have discovered the Paine office for the design of light but durable speedsters competitive in point to point racing.  Chuck would never contend to be in the same league as Bruce Farr or Jouvert- Nivelt-- famous light structure specialists whose marvelous creations crash and bang their way rapidly to windward marks with a football team of live ballast on the rail.  He prefers to dial back his racers one notch so that they will last far longer than the stripped out machines and be absolutely competitive as soon as the course becomes a reach or a run.  With their more modest draft they carry the advantage of handicap ratings that their deeper drafted brethren curse mightily as soon as the wind fairs.
