For the past thirty years C.W. Paine Yacht Design Inc. was the most successful high performance cruising yacht design firm in America. In 2008 Chuck sold the nearly 200 designs of C. W. Paine Yacht Design Inc. to his former employees Mark Fitzgerald and Ed Joy. Through 
Mark and Ed you can gain access to the drawings and design rights for these excellent designs. You may choose to build an identical sistership, or use it as the starting point for a yacht customized to your own tastes by Mark or Ed. The C.W. Paine Yacht Design Inc. website will indicate which of the two- Mark Fitzgerald or Ed Joy- you should contact for each design.

Chuck sees yacht ownership going full circle with a renaissance in the use of yachts that possess rare beauty and are capable beyond their size- ones that can be easily gotten out onto the water and do not involve huge economic impact to build or maintain. The "daysailor" craze of the present will continue for the simple reason that it makes sense for people too busy to spend long stretches of time on the water. SAIL WITH CHUCK PAINE: Chuck spent a lifetime out there on the beautiful interface between air and water. Along the way he learned to swing a sextant and reef a sail blindfolded because at night in a snotty wind, you might as well be.
